In Love

As promised yesterday, I'm back today with my new entry to the nails battle by Bourjois.
It took me a long time to find this "Rose Cupcake" color. I've been seeking it forever. I could have bought it online, but I wanted it so badly that I was too impatient to wait for it to be shipped to me.
So I've got it!! As usual, no problem while applying it, even though this time, I have to admit that two coats were necessary to cover my white nails.
Then I applied a matifying top coat and that's when I literally fell in love for this color. Once matified this nail polish is just A-MA-ZING (seriously, even not matified it already looks great!) :

I decided to stamp it and here's what came out :

What do you think about it?

See you soon :)

Violet Mood

Hello!

Recently, it has been really sunny out there, and it feels so goood! Today I have a meeting so my nails had to match with what I was going to wear. I went for an OPI nail polish named "Dutch Ya Just Love OPI" and I stamped over it with a silver which has some pink reflects in it.

This silver polish is a very old one and I've got to tell you that I've kept all the polishes I've ever bought. Some are even more than 10 years old. I had to throw away some of them, because I couldn't open them, and they were completely dry. I don't know why, but I can't throw something that I've bought and that is no completely used. All these old nail polishes are now used for stamping or for my nail arts.
I'll be back soon with another entry to the Bourjois' Battle :)

Enjoy your day!!

Nails, neons and piano

Hi there!!!

So how was your week-end? Here it was so sunny and so hooot! It's been a while since we had such a great weather!!
So here I am with my mani of the week-end and my mani of the day :)
This week-end I wear neons on both my toes and my hands :) I really like these colors wether at day or at night! They always stand out either way !!

For today, as I knew that I'd be typing all day long on my keyboard, I first thought I was going to make a kind of keyboard mani. But I finally prefered going for a piano like mani.

I'm not completely satisified with the result, because I've already done better. I can't wait for this week to end (yeah already...)  because end of the week means end of the month and end of the month means salary! And salary means that I'll be able to purchase some little things that I've seen!

See you soon !

#TheSundayNailBattle #2 - Cannes International Film Festival

So girls,

I forgot to tell you that on sunday I participated for the second time to the 4th edition of the SundayNailBattle hosted by @OdileSacoche and @10tubes

The theme was the Cannes International Film Festival. You may know that for its 65th edition this festival was in honor of Marilyn Monroe.
So I prepared a lot my first idea, but I came with something that I didn't really like. It looked good on the paper but once on my nails it wasn't that great. My first idea was to do something related to the red carpet :)

But as I didn't like the result, I then decided to go for something a little bit more classic and I wanted to put Marilyn on my nails! And here's what I came out with :

Below, I'm linking all the entries to the battle that I liked the most :

Sorry for the delay and see you soon!

It's All About Stars...

Hello!!

Here I am with another mani for today!
It's been a while since I used my China Glaze Ring in The Red. As today seems to be a sunny day, this mani will shine all day long!
I also went through my stamping plates and I've chosen a Bundle Monster one. I was in the mood for stars to stand on my nails!

I hope that you'll have a sunny day too!

Review - Top Coat comparison

Hi there!

So I'm back here to make a little review on fast drying top coats that I own. It took me a while before finding the right one for me.

So first let's define what's a good top coat (from my point of view).
To my opinion a good top coat must :
  1. make your polish dry in a short amount of time
  2. give you a glossy and a sleek manicure
  3. live long before becoming doughy and thicker.
  4. have a nice consistancy like a nail polish would.
  5. make you mani last longer than it would without top coat

OPI RapiDry TopCoat
This is the first top coat that I've ever owned. When I first used it I was almost sure that it would be THE one. But I was wrong and I'll tell you why.
First, this top coat really helps your polish dry faster, it only takes a few minutes to have a very nice glossy manicure. So for a drying purpose it's perfect. Most of times, it only took 2 days (even sometimes 1 day) before my manicure started chipping. And I absolutely hate that! I first thought it was due to the base I was using. So I tried changing the base, but I still had the same problem there. Hum weird. Then after using it for a few times, I noticed that it's consistancy was changing. It was becoming all doughy. I really don't know what was the problem, because the top coat was well closed, and that's for sure!!
Here's what I mean by doughy :

That's why I thought that maybe I had bought a product that was defective from the start. So when I really couldn't use it anymore I went to the store and got a new one. But I got the same problems I'd already had with the old one.
Needless to say that if you only want to use it for the fast drying part, and if you don't care or don't need your mani to last more than one day, this product is really good.

OPI Drip Dry
In addition to OPI's RapiDry TopCoat, I've also used their Drip Dry product. To be honest with you, I didn't notice that my polish was drying faster with these drops. I didn't really like the product, so I don't know what you think about it but I know that this is a product I'll never buy again.

Sèche Vite
The first time I've tried this product, I immediately noticed the strong smell. It's a little too strong for me... This top coat is thicker than OPI's but it works better. It dries my polish as well as OPI's, it gives me a nice looking mani, and it lasts longer than OPI's.
I noticed that sometimes my manicure had a weird reaction to the top coat. But it don't know where this reaction is coming from as it doesn't happen all the time! As Sèche Vite has better results than OPI, and is cheaper, I would definitely recommend you this product !

Essie Good To Go
I wasn't going to buy another top coat after the Sèche Vite one. But  on a weekend a few months ago, I had forgotten mine. So I went to a little market next to where I was and I bought Essie Good To Go. I really liked applying this product because it's not thick like the others, and it makes my nails dry in less time than the others! With this top coat my many lasted more than four days without chipping which is great!!
Unfortunately, I've noticed that it started becoming thicker and a little doughy like the OPI one. But I've only used half of a bottle in more than 3 months, so I'll definitely buy another one. This is now my go to top coat and I really recommend you to test it!!

Soooo, I'm finished with this review and I have to remind you that we all have nails that are different, and that maybe a top coat that didn't satisfy me will satisfy you!
I'll soon try the Sally Hansen Insta Dri one, would you recommend it to me or not? What top coat do you like most?

If you want further information, or have any questions I'll be happy to answer!!

xoxo

Everyday I'm Bubbling...!

Morning Giiiirls!

So yesterday when I went back home, I was in the mood for a bath. You know a big relaxing bath with so mush foam, and bubbles everywhere! But unfortunately I have no bathtub! The worst thing about it is that I once had a bathtub, but I didn't use it often, and I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have! Today I definitely regret it!!
So I was seeking for a manicure that would make me feel like I was in an imaginary relaxing bath ;) I went for two China Glaze's polishes which are Frostbite and Icicle. I used a Konad stamping plate to achieve this manucure :

I have to tell you girls that I'm in love with this blue color. I'm even considering buying another bottle of this polish just to be sure that I'll never run out of it.
So girls I'm leave you for a moment, because I've got some work waiting for me!

I'll see you soon for another mani <3

Have a nice day :)

Jam N'Jelly

Hello Girls!

So when I got back from work today, I really needed to think about something else, and therefore I went for a mani. These two last days have just been horrible. No sun for two entire days, only clouds, and some pouring rain.
So I went for Essie's nail polish in Jam N'Jelly. The reason I like Essie's nail polishes so much is that they have a quite large brush, which makes the application of their polishes so smooth and so easy.
I also love the kind of purplish reflects of this polish. It warms my heart up!

I've added two coats of Nubar's polish in Black Polka Dots just to add a little more fun ;)

Now I'm feeling ready for tomorrow and can wish you all good night and sweet dreams!

Splatter Nails , #TheSundayNailBattle

I'm back girls!

So it hasn't stop raining since this morning, feels like I'm not seeing the end of this day. And I'm realizing that tomorrow I've got to go to work. Nay, it sucks!
So as I was surfing the web, I heard of a battle (yeah, i'm into it lately) called the #TheSundayNailBattle.
This battle is hosted by Odile Sacoche and Andreia. You can visit their blogs for more information on this battle, and for those of you who don't understand french, here's the deal : each sunday, a theme is set, and we have to do a mani around it. You can use whatever technique you want to achieve it.
I recently purchased the Ozotic 509 on Pshiiit's online store , so I decided that I'd go with this color!
Comparing to what the other girls did, my technique is very simple, and didn't imply splattering everything around me! I just did this with some stamping :

So I'll admit that I've seen way much better entries to the battle but we're here to share so it's ok!
Considering the weather, I had to take these pictures under artificial light so we don't really see all the reflects of this splendid nail polish...

I hope you'll like the results!

Just a little more sun ...

Morning Girls!

So as promised here's my last creation with the Bourjois nail polishes I recently bought.
Here the sun isn't really showing, and we've had a rainy week-end which stinks!
Therefore, to make my day a little brighter, I decided to go for a gradient nail design using the coral and the fuchsia colors!
I first put a base on my nails, and one coat of the corally color. Then I did the gradient with the fuchsia nail polish! Here's the result :

If you'd like to redo this mani using the same polishes, you've got to go fast when doing the gradient. These are fast drying nail polishes, so if you tend to take your time you might have a sticky result :s !
This will be my 4th and last entry to their contest for the moment.

Recently, I've seen many gradients made by other nail artists which I love and there are two of them that I'd like to share with you :

I hope that this mani will give me enough sun for today, as the real sun apparently won't be showing.
As always, there'll be sun tomorrow when I'll be sitting in front of my computer...

Have a nice Sunday and enjoy your week-end ! <3

Advertising Nails

Hi Girls!

I know that I'm in a "Bourjois" phase but don't worry everything will soon be back to normal!
During my last shopping session, I also bought a nail polish in the color "Fuchsia Bucolique" which as you can guess is a real bright fuchsia!
This color reminded me a lot of their logo, so I decided to go for a mani in the spirit of it!
I went for black instead of white for the logo just to make it pop! And I have to say that I love the result!
Here are the pictures :

I don't know what you think about this color, but this is going to be one of my go to colors for the summer!
Tomorrow there'll be another post with Bourjois Nail Polishes and then I promise I'll be back playing with my other polishes!!

See you soon!

Miraculous Review - Bourjois' Magic Nail Polish Remover

Hey Girls!

Here I am with another review of Bourjois' Magic Nail Polish Remover!
When I first saw the product, I told my friend that I wasn't really convinced by all the promises, and I didn't pay much attention to it. And it was it.
But I recently went shopping with my boyfriend, and this product happened to cross my way again. Yeah so what was the deal? I read that it only took you a few seconds to remove your polish only by dipping your nail into this pink bottle. Yeah, like I was going to believe that! So I bought it anyway just to test it and tell myself that, once again I was right!
Well girls, I have to admit that my opinions were completely wrong! THIS PRODUCT IS AWESOME!
Not only it removes your polish in a few seconds, but it also leaves your nails with a red-fruits scent mixed to vanilla ! Yes, my nails were smelling good after using a nail polish remover! Gosh!!

By the way, we're day four of the mani with the 1 second nail polish and my nails were not chipping yet as you can see on the before/after picture! Sorry for my natural nails which don't look really good! But that's my fault :(

See you girls!

Review - 1 second Bourjois Nail Polishes

Good Morning Girls!

So as I'm not working today, I decided to make a little review on some nail polishes that I bought recently.
I've got many Bourjois nail polishes but until yesterday, I didn't have the ones with their new gel-like formula.
So I've got to say that this collection is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!
With only one coat you'll have a gel-like finish without even using an UV lamp. I've been wearing the following design on my nails for 2 days now and it didn't chip as you can see :

This polish strengthens your nails and gives you a really classy manicure without any efforts.
You only have to apply one coat of polish to get a real sleek finish. I applied two coats on my nails not because I needed it but just because I'm used to doing my nails this way!
Today, I'll have to admit that I've been hard on my nails just to show you that they don't chip easily. I went to the pool, I did the dishes without gloves (yeah I know bad bad bad!) and as you can see on the picture my nails still look perfect!
This is definitely going to be my summer go to nail polish! No more chipped nails after a long bathing, this is paradise!
You can find them on their french online store, I'll try to get information to know where you can buy them otherwise, and I'll keep you informed !

Battle of Manicures – 2nd Entry

So Girls,

Yesterday I showed you my first entry to the “Battle of Manicures” hosted by Bourjois!
As you may recall I told you that I had bought four new polishes. Well guess what? Yesterday I felt the urge to play with the two other ones.
After a long day of work, cleaning and everything, my nails were literally intact! Seriously, no chipping nothing! When I went to remove my yesterday’s mani, I noticed that because the formula was thick and gelish, it had really strenghtened my nails! I even felt sorry to try to remove this mani for a moment!
Anyway, once my nails were ready for a new mani I went for it!
I decided to go with something I’ve always been complimented about which is a zipped nail kind of mani. In fact, it’s very simple. You put your coats of nail polishes and then you put on some water decals with zip designs.
I went for Bourjois’ Bleu Water, a nice soft greyish blue, and Corail Féerique, a really nice coral color!
Here’s what I came with :

I want to try to keep this one a few days just to give you a feedback on how it stays on. But if I don’t please forgive me, I’m a nail polish addict!

Bye Girls <3

Battle of Manicures – 1st Entry

Hey there !

Today I entered a contest for the first time ! Ok this may sound weird to you guys but I’m really excited about it! I started this blog only recently, even if I’ve been doing my nails for a few years now! I’ve always been shy and maybe lacking some self-confidence. But hey this is my first contest :D
So for my first entry, I decided to go with a mani based on striping tape.

As always, I started with a clear base and I applied one coat or Bourjois’s Rainbow Apparition. This is a thick formula so great if you want to do only one coat! Furthermore, it dries fast (around 50 to 60 seconds) so when you like to play with your nails like me it’s really cool!

When my first coat dried, I put some top coat because using striping tape or even tape can get nasty!! Then I went for “Figue Chic” a really nice soft purple from their recent collections.
Once again, only one coat was necessary! It was thick enough to cover the glitters without making any mess! I then took off the striping tape, put my top coat and tadaaah here’s what it looked like :

I’ve been using this kind of combo for a long time now and I can say it always works!
What do you think about it?

See you soon !!

The Battle

Hi Girls !

Today I wanted to talk to you about a contest organized by Bourjois which is a French makeup brand. It’s called “Battle de manucures” which barely means “Battle of Manucures”.
I think that it’s a really great concept! So what is it all about?
Well you have two kind of battles, one that is based on the month’s tendancy and the general battle. You can participate to both of them, of course!! A jury will then select 3 winners per month!
I don’t know if you have many Bourjois polishes but I do! I really love this brand and I’ve always been attracted to their colors! I literraly fell in love with their recent nail polishes collection! I told myself that according to this month’s expenses I would wait another month before getting the ones I wanted. When my friend showed me how cool the color she bought was, and when I heard about the contest there was no way for me to wait any longer!
I went to many stores before finding one that was eventually selling the colors I wanted! So here’s what I bought :
  • 14 – Rainbow Apparition : this is a purplish glitter nail polish
  • 13 – Figue Chic : a nice soft purple
  • 05 – Corail  Féerique : one of my favorite corals ever !
  • 08 – Bleu Water : a really nice soft blue with some grey tones

I wasn’t home yet that I was already figuring out what I was going to do with these little treasures ! To be honest with you guys, I wanted to buy many other colors but I guess my credit card wasn’t OK with that...!

See you soon girls!!!

WonderWoman

Hi girls!

Tonight I really wanted to put on some China Glaze's Frostbite on my nails.
I also did an accent nail with OPI's Not Really a Waitress and some white stars stamps.
Playing with my nails is a way for me to destress and relax. When I get home, I'm not even finished doing what has to be done that I'm already looking forward to making my nails! Yeah weird, I agree but that's my thing!

So here's the result !

This mani makes me feel so empowered tonight that I feel ready to get tomorrow's work done and enjoy my weekend!!

See you !

Not Really a Zipped Nail

Hi there!

Tonight I wanted to revisit my zipped nails.
I was really inspired by OPI's Not Really A Waitress.

I'm now going to get some sleep as tomorrow will be a long day of work!

See you soon!

Zipped Nails

Yesterday I received two polishes from Models Own I recently ordered.
I wanted to swatch them immediately! You know that feeling you have when you get a new thing and that you want to test it right away? Well that's how I felt!!
Here are the pictures of what I finally did with it :

I had to apply three coats of Models Own's polish in Beetlejuice - Aqua Violet to have a quite opaque finish. The positive thing is that each coat dried very fast so I didn't have to wait that much before applying the next coat!
I really love how it turned out!

Sweet dreams girls!!
