Nails inspired by Revlon

Hey there!

How are you doing? It's getting colder here, but everything's just fine :)
As I told you in my guest post for Cristina of Let them have Polish, I'm generally inspired by textures, patterns, colors .. that I see on clothes or on other stuff. In fact, I'm inspired by everything that can be reproduced on my nails!
So, this weekend, while I was surfing on Youtube, I saw a review about a Revlon Colorburst lipstick. And I fell in love with the packaging! I had to try this on my nails! So here we go :

And here's what the lipstick looks like :

I also remember that The PolishAholic had done something similar to this recently with a great tutorial inside! She was inspired by a phone case for this one!
I love what I came up with, and I love this padded effect! I just think that maybe I should have listened to myself when I hesitated on cutting in half my striping tape to have something thinner! But I'm keeping this idea for another mani!!

What do you think about this? Where do you get your inspiration?

Oh, and I almost forgot to say welcome to all of my new followers!! <3

  1. This looks great. First I was thinking how did you make it and after reading your post you mentioned the striping tapes, great effect! How many polish layers did you used?

    1. Thanks <3
I first put 2 coats of Licorice, the black polish by Essie. I put my fast drying top coat, and then I taped my nails with pieces of striping tape.
Then I layered one coat of Licorice, and two coats of Chanel's Mat Velvet top coat. And I removed the pieces of tape.
      :)
