OPI - Over the Taupe

Hey there!!

OPI's Over the Taupe, is in fact the first OPI polish that I have ever bought. It was a few years ago!

I 'd been looking for this kind of taupe for a while, and when I saw that OPI made the perfect one, I knew I had to get it. At that time, OPI wasn't available everywhere in France. Only some Sephora stores were selling it. And that's where I found it! Too bad they were a little pricy. And they still are. I don't know why but here in France, an OPI polish costs about 14€ (18$). Pretty expensive, isn't it?

But, this is the perfect taupe!! Not too light and not too dark. I made a little stamping over it using my Konad M70 plate and Joy from China Glaze.

DIY - Peel Off Base

Hey there!

After having done my article on the great Peel Off Base made by Essence, I took some time to look for its ingredients over the internet.
Also Chalkboard Nails told me on Instagram that according to PrettyPurplePolish , PVA glue was the major ingredient of this base. Therefore I headed to the nearest store and I bought a bottle of PVA glue, also known as white glue, or wood working glue.

I bought a little tube of glue of 55ml to give it a try!
First, the smell is almost the same as Essence's base, and it has the same white texture.

I took a brush and I applied this glue to my bare nails.

It looks exactly the same as Essence's base, doesn't it? In fact, to make a good comparison, I put the Peel Off base made by Essence on my ring finger.

Even once dry, you can't really tell the difference.

I waited about half an hour before applying my first coat of glitters. I put two coats of China Glaze's Prism and then I finished with my go-to top coat which is Miracote from Duri.

Unless trying to peel off the polish, it doesn't start peeling by itself.
Here's the peeling part :

You'll notice that both the glue and the Peel Off Base work the same way!

You can find this kind of glue almost anywhere, so it's a great alternative if you can't find Essence products nearby.
I wouldn't use this kind of base often because I can't say if it's toxic or not!

Essie - Navigate Her

Hey there!

Today, I'm doing this quick post to show you some stamping I did over Essie Navigate Her :)

This polish is part of a swap I did with my dear Amina, and I'm so thankful !! This polish is amazing and I just love the color!!

So here it is :

I used the BM-310 plate from Bundle Monster's latest set of plates, and I love this design! I find it so classy!

Vivid Lacquer - VL 002

Quick post today to show you the latest stamping plate that I bought. I bought this one on Etsy, and it's from Vivid Lacquer who is mostly known for making great franken polishes! They now also sell two stamping plates, and I fell for the VL 002.

The plate is covered with a blue plastic wrap when you get it, and it's easy to peel it off. Also, to prevent you from cutting your fingers on the edges, it has a nice backing on.
This is definitely a high-end plate. The designs are very precise and they stamp really well.

I applied two coats of a very dark purple, and then I stamped with Joy from China Glaze :

What's great with these designs is that they're so large that you can choose which part of the design you want to stamp on your nail, and you can make each of your nails look different ! No more problems for the thumbs either!
The stamping plate VL 001 is very nice too, but I think I'll buy it later, since I've already done enough shopping for august!

Kiko Magnetic - Great Polish, Small Price

Hey there!

I've recently bought some Kiko Magnetic polishes as I didn't own any magnetic polish. And I really wanted to try this trend. I chose this brand, because I already love their eyeshadows but also because these magnetic polishes were not expensive : only 2,50€ each. Great deal!

So here's the 704 Purple that I think is gorgeous!

I first applied one thin coat of the polish, and I allowed it to dry. Then, one nail at a time, I applied a second coat of the polish, and I used the magnet. I hold the magnet in place for about 15 seconds. This polish is really great because it doesn't try too fast after you apply it, but once you're finished with the magnet, your nail is almost dry! I love all the reflects of this purple and the color is so gorgeous!!

Let's now talk about the magnet. Honestly I didn't get the one that was supposed to go with the polish as I wanted China Glaze's one. I always wanted this one because the magnet is larger than usual, and therefore perfect for my thumb! Plus, the little lip that you'll place just below your cuticle is big enough to prevent the magnet from touching your nail.

I love it, and I particularly love the kind of ripple effect it brings to the nails.
Obviously, I've bought three other colors : 707 Charcoal, 706 Deep Green, and 705 Emerald Turquoise. Would you like me to show it to you too?
The colors of Kiko magnetic polishes are really handsome, and so inexpensive!
